I follow this league closely (not as intensely as Serie A), and ever so often I’ll take a poke at a game or two. For those with access to this league, you may want to consider the following match-up for tonight:<o></o>
<st1:City><st1lace>Montreal</st1lace></st1:City> Impact (11W-4L-8T) at <st1:City><st1lace>Rochester</st1lace></st1:City> (11W-8L-6T)<o></o>
<st1:City><st1lace>Montreal</st1lace></st1:City> in the final stretch drive of the season, with 5 games remaining. Currently in excellent form, evidence of their record compiled in the last 6 games (4W-0L-2T).<o></o>
<st1:City><st1lace>Rochester</st1lace></st1:City> has an impressive home record (7W-3L-2T), but more impressive is <st1:City><st1lace>Montreal</st1lace></st1:City>’s road record of 6W – 1L – 4T (not much scoring with 15 GF, but impressive on defense with 10 allowed.)<o></o>
The Impact has already defeated the Rhinos in the first meeting of season on August 5th by a score of 1-0 nil, and feel that the club is building to end the season on a high note, and surge in the playoffs. I saw this same scenario last year with <st1:City><st1lace>Vancouver</st1lace></st1:City>; they weren’t having a good season and then they caught fire and went undefeated in the last 10 games. Interesting to note that these two will face each other two more times: Next Friday in <st1:City><st1lace>Montreal</st1lace></st1:City>, and a season ending match on the 8th of September in <st1:City><st1lace>Rochester</st1lace></st1:City>. With that being said, these match-ups will probably set the tone for the upcoming playoffs. The Impact will be without team captain Mauro Biello, but the entire team is playing with increased confidence, especially on offense. I think it’s worth a shot.<o></o>
